A unique Art Deco cabinet designed by the German architect Herman Jakoby for his family residence in Darmstadt, Germany, in the 1920s.

The cabinet is constructed of black-lacquered softwood and incorporates glazed central doors flanked by smaller subsidiary doors, as well as glazed side panels. The polychrome door handles are elaborately carved with figural motifs, including nudes, animals, and masks. The original locking mechanisms and keys are intact.

Provenance: Commissioned for and retained within the Jakoby family since its design.
