Oil on cardboard, 40 × 50 cm
Signed lower right: “Studio dal vero Giuseppe Palizzi”
This work is attributed to Giuseppe Palizzi and reflects the naturalistic approach closely associated with his practice. Born in Lanciano, Italy, Palizzi spent much of his career in France, where he became associated with the Barbizon School and was known for his sensitive depictions of animals, landscapes, and rural scenes.
The present study demonstrates stylistic qualities consistent with Palizzi’s work, including close observation from life and a nuanced treatment of light and atmosphere.
