The mirror has been restored with an aged mirror plate and filled historic woodworm holes.

Carlo Bugatti, a member of the influential Bugatti family, was the son of the interior decorator Luigi Bugatti and the father of the sculptor Rembrandt Bugatti and automobile pioneer Ettore Bugatti. Renowned for his highly original and eclectic approach to design, Bugatti played a pivotal role in Italian decorative arts at the turn of the 20th century, blending exotic materials, artisanal craftsmanship, and innovative forms. This mirror exemplifies his early stylistic experimentation in both form and surface decoration.
