Mária Turán Hacker was a Hungarian painter and a pianist. Mária Turán Hacker graduated from the girls' high school in Budapest and then earned a certificate as a drawing teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts. At the same time she was a student of Kálmán Chovan at the Music Academy and received a teaching diploma with distinction. She then studied painting in Munich, Paris and Nagybánya. After returning home, she made her debut at the Műcsarnok (Budapest Art Hall) with the painting Házépítez a Rózsadom. She later organized a group exhibition at the National Salon, but also exhibited at the Műcsarnok exhibitions. In Genoa she exhibited with the artist group UME. Nikola Taneff's exhibition at the National Salon with the painting cycle “Fire and Volga” was particularly successful. In 1912, Hacker gave her first solo concert in the Great Hall of the Royal. Her interpretation of Schumann was a great success. She later gave several solo and ensemble concerts in Vienna and took part in several concerts.
