Carved bamboo effect design with circular rush seat. In good solid condition with no damage to the rush seat.

Pre Raphaelite artist and designer Ford Maddox Brown (1821-1893) was a founder member of what became Morris & Co in 1861 is credited with introducing a circular seat to the Sussex model.
