A pair of extremely rare Basculant chairs designed by Le Corbusier.

Designed in 1928 and featuring the same construction (arresting bars in the back, screwed frame, sprung arm rests) as the original German Thonet B301 production from the 1930's. We have been in touch with the Vitra museum who confirm that these examples indeed match the design and are believed to be from the period or a perhaps a slightly later construction from the 1960's. Attached is a photo of the original frame from the 1930's.

The chairs are in very good vintage condition with a lovely patina to the leather. Light cracking to the leather and one very small nick to the seat (see photo). One of the screws at the rear of the armrest is missing.
