A late 19th to early 20th century cord bench.
Its bamboo frame is intricately covered with patinated cord, skillfully woven to form decorative motifs.
Faint remnants of a coat of arms are visible, suggesting that this piece may have once belonged to a prominent family.
In solid usable condition. Some loss to the cord on the arms (see photos).
