Mathieu Matégot
(1910-2001) - 'Java' Table Lamp
1954, France
Black-lacquered corrugated metal and brass.
The 'Java' lamp combines a folded metal body with brass feet and an adjustable reflector.
Its compact, functional construction reflects Matégot's distinctive approach to post-war French lighting design.
The adjustable reflector lid is a later replacement.
