A rare early 20th century bentwood chair by Austro-Hungarian company Ungvar.
Ungvar began making bentwood furniture in the style of Thonet in the late 19th centutry and was eventually purchased by Thonet in the 1930's. While it is common to come across the bentwood furniture of Thonet and J&J Kohn, Ungvar examples are much harder to find.
In good solid condition with no breaks or damage to the cane seat. The cane seat appears to have been re-caned at some point.
